Product Introduction

1. Introduction

Automat Sheet Press is  used to press test leaves and consists of 2 parallel plates that are pressed against each other by means of compressed air cylinders. The test sheets placed in between are first pre-pressed with a set pre-pressure after a set time and then finished-pressed in a second pressing cycle. Thanks to the adjustable time modules, the pressing times (5 or 2 min ± 15 s) can be adhered to exactly.
 A Plexiglas cover serves as a safety device: A safety switch, which is activated when the cover is opened, prevents the press from being started unintentionally.

3. Test Principle 

Test sheets produced on Test sheets produced on a TAPPI or KCL sheet former are lifted from the sheet forming sieve with the blotting paper after they have been drained and placed in the sheet press with a dry blotting sheet. To do this, the Plexiglas cover of the device is opened and the laboratory sheets located between blotting sheets and polished carrier plates are placed in the device. The first step is pre-pressing for 5 minutes. After removing the intermediate layer, the actual pressing process takes place. For this purpose, a pressure of 345 kPa is maintained for 2 minutes. Then the paper stack is removed and is now ready for drying and conditioning.
